Preface

"When the Power of Love Overcomes the Love of Power the World Will Know Peace".

If you love Music, Nature & Peace I challenge you to read on & look over this awesome website!

My love of nature and music both began at a very young age.  In my crib in southwest Georgia, my first memory of animals were the little Green Anoles (lizards) that would crawl over the screen and visit me, on the window above me.  I remember how they would stop and look down at me and how their eyeballs could look two different directions at one time!  Some of my first memories of smell as an infant was the aroma of Longleaf Pine on sunny days.  My first memory of the sound of nature was the whistling of the wind as it blew through the Longleaf Pine needles, it almost sounded as if nature was singing to me.
My love of music also began at about three or four years old and is largely attributed to my father and uncle.  I was born in 1965 when rock and roll and music was well on it's way to an explosion like never known before in history.  My parents often listened to the radio at home or while driving.  I fondly remember my father's music jam sessions where he played a variety of albums from the 1960s, often at a very loud level!  My uncle was a high-tech hippie and had a custom hi-fi system that was out of this world, along with an album collection that seemed endless to me!
In the late 1960s my uncle gave me one of the most awesome gifts in my life, my first little AM transistor radio!  Living near Chicago then, in northwest Indiana, I spent many nights as a little boy with that little radio under my pillow listening to one of the greatest radio stations of the time - WLS!  As a little boy, in the late 60s and early 70s songs from such great artists as the Beatles, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Badfinger, Santana, the Guess Who, Canned Heat, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, the 5th Dimension, Thee Dog Night, America, Marvin Gaye and many others would imprint on me for the rest of my life.
At a very young age I also was quick to learn of a sad prejudice - the disrespect and abuse of nature and animals by humans.  At about four years old, while rolling down a hill of tall grass, I rolled into a cluster of at least 25 newborn Garter snakes.  These little harmless snakes quickly covered my small body and several crawled over my chest and looked me straight in the eyes.  For a moment I sat speechless and in awe of these fascinating little creatures I had discovered.  But, suddenly I had to share my new discovery - I grabbed two handfuls of snakes and ran to show my elderly babysitter.  I never could have foreseen her reaction.  As I stood on the back patio, with two handfuls of little snakes dropping all around me I knocked on the door.  When my normally pleasant, elderly babysitter looked down, the look on her face quickly turned to that of terror and a possessed monster!  She screamed, quickly ran down the stairs, knocked the remainder of the little snakes out of my hands and smashed them with her feet all over the hard concrete.  I watched their little bodies being crushed and blood splattering all over. I was so deeply saddened and disgusted that she could do such a terrible and shameful thing to little lives that had just begun.  I knew from that moment on, at a very young age, that some void and disturbance existed between many people, animals and nature - as I further learned from other disturbing events I witnessed while growing up.  However, that first disturbing event only strengthened my love of animals and nature and began my dedication and path on the road to becoming a herpetologist and environmentalist!
Whether it's prejudice towards an animal, nature or another human race or religion, it's wrong and it's sad.  Try to reverse the situation - would you want to be on the receiving end of such darkness?  Were you ever bullied in school or as a child?  Imagine being bullied for the color of your skin, being bullied your entire life, for not being a certain religion, for not being human. Imagine loosing your life simply because you do not fit or conform.  The problem, the hatred and fear lies within yourself.  Imagine the fear that slips away as that person or animal's life fades away. Now, imagine peace.
As a teenager, with my love of nature and music moving full-speed ahead, the idea of this CD set on peace, ecology and music first originated in my mind.  I would work on the idea a little here and there over the years, but it wasn't until 2009, when I served in AmeriCorps for two years, that I seriously began work on this awesome collection of music and materials!  While living in a 25 ft camper, in Big Lagoon State Park, Florida I finally, largely completed the idea.
In 2010, during my AmeriCorps service I saw firsthand the horror and devastation of the Gulf oil spill, while working in Perdido Key State Park, FL.  I then began to try and market my idea and tried to contact a variety of artists that had songs on the CDs.  That proved to be very difficult as most artists and celebrities make it almost impossible to contact them.  Even if you do contact their agent, record label or representative, the chance of the artist actually seeing such a great idea is almost impossible.  The closest I came was briefly talking to Neil Young's agent a couple of times.  Neil Young had launched a benefit tour across Gulf states and I was just seeking Neil's endorsement, especially since he had been such an outstanding voice for civil rights and the environment for so long.
So, after trying for years to contact a variety of artists and people, just seeking an endorsement and help in making this very beneficial idea a reality, I am now forced to go public and try the power of the internet to make this great idea happen! This idea will benefit people and the environment in many ways! It's a great idea and I think people will be interested in buying the CD set and supporting the issues I address. I humbly and sincerely ask for help in making this outstanding collection of music a reality.
I encourage and challenge you to look over this site, materials and idea!  If you like music or nature I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised and interested.  I have also included songs from the CD collection that will play in the background on each page - the music alone in this collection is out of this world!  Feel free to sign the guestbook and contact me via email (on the last page) if you're interested in learning more, wish to endorse this awesome idea or helping to make it a reality.  I will not give up until this awesome idea of music, nature and peace happens!  The world, humanity and nature needs this now.  Listen to the music!  Peace, Love & Nature!  Karl R.
